Hello Pickleballers! Save the dates of April 12th and 13th. GMCF will be hosting our first annual charity tournament called the Pickleball Meltdown. Proceeds will benefit the Capstone "Fuel Your Neighbor" campaign. As you know, it gets pretty cold up here and this campaign provides heating assistance and food to families and individuals in Central Vermont who might need some help.

The format of the tournament will be a scramble-format doubles tournament, which means you'll register as an individual and then be partnered with other players at your skill level. In order to get as many participants as possible we will NOT be reporting scores to DUPR for this event and unrated players can register in the division of their choosing.

Hey all, hope you have found a way to address the outdoor PB play withdrawals. While we have a mix of snowbirds and folks that move inside to the Barre Aud or GMCF I know there are others on hiatus until Spring allows us to get back outside. Wanted to let you know that this weekend at GMCF is the annual PB Mayhem tournament hosted by GMCF with Nick Petterssen as the TD. This is a great way to watch some great pickleball action, see how a tournament works and support the competitors (Many of whom you will know) This event also draws in folks from other communities, awesome time to interact with others addicted to this game. Saturday same sex doubles, Sunday is mixed doubles. 3 competition levels - lower division going early 8:00, mid level apporox. 10:30 followed by upper level in the afternoon. If you haven’t seen the indoor courts, this is a great time to swing up and check them out. Location is 652 Granger Rd, Barre – Navigate to the reception area and they will direct you to the courts.
